SOUTH AFRICAN LIBRARY FOR THE BLIND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

The South African Library for the Blind (SALB) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates who are South African citizens for the following contract position to commence on 1 November 2024:

Human Resources Officer (Makhanda/ Grahamstown)

Contract position up to 31 March 2025

The incumbent in this role will be responsible to provide Human Resources Administrative support within the SALB HR section in the various human resource functions, such as payroll management, recruitment and selection, training and development, employment equity, COIDA, HR record keeping, reporting, performance management, etc.

Minimum Requirements & Attributes

A completed N6 qualification (as accredited by SAQA) in Human Resources Management (HRM), coupled with 2 years’ work experience in a Human Resources position. Preference may be granted to candidates with a higher-level qualification in HRM who also meet the minimum work experience requirements. Good understanding and working knowledge of Labour legislation and prescripts, e.g. LRA, BCEA, SDA, EEA, OHSA, etc. Public Sector work experience may be advantageous. Practical exposure to Payroll processing and HR system experience essential, whilst VIP Payroll experience is preferred. Good MS Office skills, particularly MS Excel and MS Word. Good written and verbal communication skills in English as the business language. Results driven with a sense of urgency while being detail and compliance oriented. Prior experience with mid-year and year end tax reconciliations and submissions, as well as online submission of COIDA and Employment Equity data will be advantageous. Friendly and approachable with the ability to interact with all levels of staff and persons from diverse backgrounds. High level of integrity and ethical standards.

Remuneration

Up to R22 149,00 pm (Total Cost to Company)
