SALB participates in the National Arts Festival

The SALB in collaboration with the EC Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture is taking part in the Lit-Fest from the 29th of June 2022 until the 01st of July 2022 under the theme “Reflections on John Knox Bokwe as leading light in literature development and a proponent of social cohesion and nation-building." The Lit-Fest is part of the National Arts Festival which is taking place in Makhanda from the 23rd of June 2022 until the 03rd of July 2022. This will be the first time that members from the mini-libraries will be participating in the LitFest. Eastern Cape Mini Library members from Umthatha, Makhanda, and Gqeberha will be taking part in reviewing a short story: Bhontsi’s toe from Dr Siphiwo Mahala’s latest book Red Apple and also take part in poetry under the theme: The power of writing. The audience will have a chance to hear from one of our members tomorrow 01 July 2022, Mr. Lungisa Ngqolovu, a self-published author, who recently published “Ndixolele Nonzuzo mntakwethu”. Alongside his book in accessible formats are handcrafted items from the members in Gqeberha such as pillows, leather belts, and beadwork.Join us at Amazwi South African Museum of Literature at 25A Worcester Street, Makhanda!
