SALB commemorates Mandela Month

Tata Nelson Mandela, the father of the nation, always thought very highly of children. He once said "Educating all of our children must be one of our most urgent priorities. We all know that education, more than anything else, improves our chances ofbuilding better lives." His passion for children continues to inspire people all over the world, even after he passed in December 2013. On International Nelson Mandela Day, SALB bore witness as a library for disadvantaged children was launched in Mthatha at the SOS Children's Village. The library was launched in partnership with the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture and the Nelson Mandela Museum (amongst other partners). The SALB will continue to have contact so as to determine opportunities to facilitate learning workshops for the school children. We hope you had a Nelson Mandela Day worth celebrating!
